Chair of Plant Diversity and Ecosystem Studies was established in 2023 jointly with International Scientific-Educational Center of NAS RA http://isec.am/.
The aim of the chair is to act as an integrated platform in education, research and science communication, in the fields of biodiversity, nature conservation and sustainable use of biological resources.
The mission of the chair is to educate the future generation through innovative teaching methods, hands-on field experiences, and research opportunities, inspiring them to become leaders in the field of Biodiversity and Wildlife Conservation.
A strong focus of education and research is set on the topics of phytodiversity and terrestrial ecosystems within the context of sustainable development and global change.
Starting from 2024-2025 academic year the chair offers  MSc course “Biodiversity Research and Conservation”, as well as short term courses and trainings.

Caucasus Nature Fund Scholarship for “Biodiversity Research and Conservation” Master’s Program
We are thrilled to announce the launch of a Scholarship for the “Biodiversity Research and Conservation” joint Master’s Program of the International Scientific Educational Center of NAS RA and Institute of Botany aft. A. Takhtajyan NAS RA financed by the Caucasus Nature Fund with the generous support of KfW, mandated by BMZ, the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.
The Caucasus Nature Fund places special emphasis on biodiversity conservation, particularly through the new master’s program. Our commitment underscores the role of young professionals in fostering a sustainable future by offering up to four scholarships per academic year, starting from September 2024.
