In September 2023, backed by financial support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, and with the active involvement of the NAS Institute of Botany after A. Takhtajyan, the pioneering “School in the Scientific Environment” initiative was launched. The program aims to cultivate scientific curiosity and nurture critical thinking among the students (7th grade) in the regions of RA and the city of Yerevan and augment the education programs of public schools through dynamic non-formal educational approaches. In 2023, the program has drawn the participation of 4,200 students from Yerevan and the RA regions. Looking ahead to 2024, this number is expected to reach an estimated 20,000 schoolchildren. This comprehensive science popularization initiative is designed to inspire a sense of fascination for science in children and immerse them in a vibrant scientific environment. Within the program’s framework, schoolchildren not only engage in diverse scientific experiments spanning physics, chemistry, and biology, but also visit various scientific and educational institutions.
